Last Chance

Hey, gals and guys! Next Wednesday is Valentine's day... have you gotten your "friend" a gift, yet? If so, well, good for you, Asskisser. If not, you've still got a chance, my friends. This is the last weekend to break up with your girlfriend or boyfriend. Stage a fight, start an argument... whatever. Save some ching.

Just helping out...

I've been over here a couple of times cause I really wanna comment. But even sitting here at the computer, I'll open my mouth and start to talk/type and....nothin'. I got nothin'.

It deserves a comment, at the very least. I just wish to hell I finish the damned thought thats dancin' in the back of my mind. ;-)

Tammi, let me have a stab at this...

DW, I'm not sure if you're aiming to sound like a cynical guy, a jaded ex-boyfriend or a quasi-envious guy (pretending he’s not) because hallmark’s putting the screws on for the holiday. If you’re aiming for Valentine scrooge you’re doing a decent job.

The truth is that most women love this day more for what it represents, the opportunity to show a little extra love for the one they love, than for the gifts they get. For most women it’s about taking the time to spend with the man they love… quality time, rather than what’s in the box. For women, it gives us an opportunity to show the man we love, who’s not into romance, that we love him and by golly, because it’s V-Day, he has to put up with it and indulge us. Small price to pay blog bro, for if you truly love someone it’s not ass-kissing, it’s just a little sacrifice.

For those men & women who showing some extra TLC it’s not a sacrifice, well then it’s an oppty to go overboard. So dear jaded, cynical blog bro. don't knock it till you've tried it.

Dearest T1G,

On behalf of the Cupid Arrow Company, we would like to apologize. Apparently the last messenger we sent your direction missed and must have shot you in the ass or the heel.

While we apologize for the bad aim on the part of our messenger, we question the need to have decimated him into such little pieces. Returning him like that in the brown paper bag via snail mail was not exactly necessary. (OSHA has informed us that we will have to decontaminate the building and treat our employees for shock.)

While his widow was relieved to have "something to remember him by", we question the voracity of which you chose to decimate a kind hearted man.

We have had our lawyers review your request for refund of the damaged arrow, tetnus shot and band aid. However when compared to the expenses we have before us, let's call it even.

We wish you a Happy Valentine's Day and will leave you alone for the time being.

Contrary to what has been commented above, we all know that Valentines day is actually set up by women to bilk guys out of every dime they can get. It's just more proof that women only love guys if they buy them things or do nice things for them. Unfortunately I am stuck in this trap as I am married and am in dire need to keep my marriage happy.

That's why you see jewelry stores advertising 100 fold this time of year.

I can't comment T1G, cause I know you. I am just grinning at the crap you stirred up! Good job!

Hmmm... We don't "do" Valentine's Day at our house. Never have. I'm guessing this puts us in the minority of couples. So there's your answer, find someone who cares about the holiday as little as you do - everyone will be happy - no break ups necessary. *grin*

T1G,
You changed the background back to the original. Like a familiar bar, it seems more comfortable this way.

When you have been with the same person as long as I have... 1985... married in 1991... it IS about the presents...

We bought my honey a brand new truck yesterday... and that boy is happy...

What do I want? Just a kiss and a cuddle...

oh.. and one of those cute diamonds...

We don't do anything special on Valentine's day, but I'm often surprised by something special from the Hubster - no special day needed. Who needs a stinkin' holiday with cards?

Posted by: Barb at February 11, 2007 11:43 PM

Dear secret Valentine (you know who you are), I got you a box of chocolates but I ate them - Hey, its getting close to that time of the month - sue me. Then, I got you a fast car . . . but I wrecked it. Then I got you a case of beer, but I drank it.

So, I will take this sage advice and tell you to hit the road, I've more important things to do than buy you a gift on a day made up so that saps will buy gifts!

Love, your Valentine.

P.S. You won't be needing this bottle of scotch now either . . .

Well my hubby gets me cool stuff like guns, so I guess that's why we celebrate. Seriously, he brought me home my very own 9mm last night. And, it's small enough to fit in my purse. Now to get this kid out so I can go shoot it.....

Posted by: Carmen at February 13, 2007 02:35 PM

You're going to shoot the kid?

Posted by: T1G at February 13, 2007 04:27 PM

Oh geez. I guess that came out wrong.....LOL
