Mega Memory...

Eric made mention of being able to remember his first phone number, and some of his readers did, too, in the comments. Hell, we moved when I was twelve, and I can tell you the addresses and phone numbers of each of the four houses I lived in for the first twenty odd years of my life. (Yeah, I know... I should have emphasized odd. Ha. Ha. Ha.) 9086, 2497, 8656, 6873, 876, 8913, and 2014, 0923.

I'm not trying to take from the fact that Eric remembers his childhood number. Rather, I mention that, and then point out that I can't remember the last place I lived, street number or phone number. I can't even remember my cell phone number, as I just discovered in replying to an email.

Funny how the mind works... or doesn't.

I can remember birthdays and zip codes and even house codes but not phone numbers. For the life of me I can't remember phone numbers.

I think that that first # we remember is only because parents/school ingrained it into you as a kid. As we get older, the need to impress it into memory is not as dire. I have a knack for remembering phone numbers for many of the companies I contact, but I can never tell you which # goes to which Co. I have to pantomine dialing on the keypad to tell you the #....

Why is everyone having lunch with my sister-in-law and I'm never invited to these festivities? Huh? Huh? Why not??

I think we all know who Billy Donavon is, the Gator bball coach. I was to photograph him tonight & was just about ready to photograph another guy because I saw the "ring". Yea I felt like idiot, but there was a tikme & it wasn't very long ago that I never forgot a face & name. Now it's drives me crazy because the 2 never match up.

It's nice to know I'm "normal" (if there is such a thing in this crowd).

I USED to remember the first phone number we ever had. And all the addresses.

Now? I can't remember the name of the last town I lived in..........

I think we are just our brightest as kids. Think I topped out at twelve, personally.

Heheheh... I'd topped at six, Key. And I'm still stuck there.
