Toilet Paper: A Question

Positioning of the roll:

Over, or under?

And how much does this affect your sanity?

I shot a man for hanging the toilet roll in the "under" direction once...wait, that was for snoring...wait, that was John Wesley Hardin. Nevermind. Anyway, the roll must unwind from the top! Drives me crazy fishing for the end of it when it's hanging the wrong way!

BTW, surfboards should be loaded on roof racks with the fins facing UP and FORWARD! Damn gremmie kooks! Come on people!!!

Over!!!! and yes, it affects my sanity!

I was always an under kinda girl - mainly because the cats would leave it alone that way. Once I got rid of the cats? Over. And as you know, most everything effects what little sanity I have managed to hang on to. ;-)

Over.

Doesn't affect my sanity too much...because I just switch it.

Posted by: Sissy at August 30, 2006 07:36 AM

Under.

you can hide the trailing end and things look much neater.

Over, when we use to hang the paper on the pretty paper hanging thing.

Now, it sits up high enough so the puppies can't get it because they love them some toliet paper. They grab the end and run through the house thinking it's funny while I watch a roll of paper go to waste.

Never use the stuff.

Posted by: Tomslick at August 30, 2006 10:48 AM

Over. I'm totally an over person. When I see it installed in the 'under' position, I don't loose any sanity, I just shake my head. And cuss quietly.

Then I quietly remove a window curtain from my hosts bathroom and use that for toileting purposes. Hell, it's easier than using the TP when it is like that.

(If Harvey reads this, no dude, it was not me who used your curtain and tore up your Reader's Digest in anger. It was the cats. Really. They are crazy. I've never seen anything like it....)

Definitely over.

Posted by: drc at August 30, 2006 12:38 PM

Ours hangs vertically- because no one will replace it on the spindle. So it sits either on the towel shelf or the window sill.

Posted by: Raging Mom at August 30, 2006 12:38 PM

Over. It's the only way. But that's not quite as bad as leaving an empty paper roll on the spindle with no backup rolls in the cabinet above the toilet. That was how I started my day early this morning. I think a jury would let me off with justifiable homicide.

over, over, over, I'll change it wherever I am.

Posted by: holder at August 30, 2006 03:08 PM

Sanity? What sanity?

Over - it must by over or I'll have to shoot you.

Posted by: Teresa at August 30, 2006 03:22 PM

Over. It HAS to be over. No effect on my sanity, I just change it from under to over if I have to.

Suggestion for follow up question: Folder or Crumpler (of the paper)?

My answer: crumpler

Posted by: David Drake at August 30, 2006 04:34 PM

Definitely over, it affects my sanity greatly. When I pull on the roll and it is placed wrong, I usually end up with 3 or 4 feet more than I need.

It is generally an insidious communist plot at work tht causes this misplaced roll phenomena.

Posted by: Biloxi at August 30, 2006 08:04 PM

Yeah, David's comment made my eyes widen. Ack!

Over, I think, I'm not sure. I never pay attention. Whatever way the roll is facing when I put it on.

Posted by: Bou at August 30, 2006 08:17 PM

When I had toddlers- UNDER....they couldn't stand there and just roll roll roll for fun, leaving me with the whole paper mess on the floor.

Nowadays- it sits on a hook (I have a 'civil war' decoration style bathroom)...so for me- the answer would be RIGHT. The flap hangs to the right.

Posted by: Rave at August 30, 2006 09:55 PM

I never much cared which direction it faced, just as long as some was available when needed, and in the amount needed.

Posted by: ralphd00d at August 31, 2006 12:05 PM

OMG! Can you believe I really don't care about the toilet paper issue. Hell, it is a good day when the roll even gets put ON the damned dispenser. LOL

Posted by: c.a. Marks at August 31, 2006 01:35 PM

Never put it on the dispenser. The damned thing is behind the tank and 14" off the ground. Can't hardly reach it from the seated position...

Posted by: El Capitan at August 31, 2006 03:29 PM

Who cares?

Posted by: Contagion at August 31, 2006 04:30 PM

Being, as it were, an Expert in Matters Abstergent, I will state uncategorically and firmly that the Bunwad Roll must be positioned such that the paper hangs down from the top of the roll: over, never under. To do otherwise is nekulturny.

UNDERRRRRRR!

Posted by: TNT at August 31, 2006 09:39 PM

TNT? Then let me take the opportunity to apologize for those 2 weeks I stayed with y'all. Yes - it was me that was "over the top". Oops.....

Posted by: Tammi at September 1, 2006 04:49 AM

I stand mine on end on the ground.
