Usquebaugh-Baul
A Scottish distillery is going to revive a 184 proof whisky... "purely for fun." Bruichladdich distillery has decided to revive a recipe for a spirit known in the Gaelic language as usquebaugh-baul, or "perilous water of life."
"Purely for fun... perilous water of life..." Yeah, sounds like a blast. "Ha, hah! He's going into convulsions!!!" "Ah shit... he's in a coma..."
I've gotta order me some o' dat...
Posted by That 1 Guy at March 1, 2006 01:23 PM... the bottle arrives, give me a call... I'll drive up....
Posted by: Eric at March 1, 2006 01:49 PMI've already been asked to order a bottle for a friend in San Francisco!
Seems to have made more news on that side of the atlantic than this one..
Posted by: Nugget at March 1, 2006 03:17 PMI put up a post about this yesterday ;)
Posted by: ktreva at March 1, 2006 04:44 PMYea, pay now, wait ten years and hope they didn't lose your information.
If you get it, call me... I'll help ya clean the bottle. :)
Man, we gotta come up with some "uber cool" names for average folk that make "water of life" in the stills of the south. They didn't never stop with their recipe. They're just refinin' it. If we don't, everybody just thinks we're RedNeck's.
If Eric shows up to help you with that bottle, beware of what he's totin' up to you with him. It might just be a clearer "water of life"...
Im banking on this blog to keep me posted on this! I cant wait, i will save and starve till i have enough to get it across the bloody seas!
have a nice day

And just because you can never have enough volunteers, I'm tossing my hat into the "helping out" ring :-)
