Motivated
So... you're wondering how the show went, last night? Allow me to say that it kicked ass. For the most part, anyway.
The lineup consisted of a local band (I didn't get the name) that was incredible, Invitro, Otep, and Static-X. This was the first time that I'd heard of Invitro, and I'm sorry to say that. They put on a hell of a show, and I'd have liked to see them play longer. It's safe to say that I'll be buying their disc.
Otep kicked ass musically, but I can't say that I appreciate all of the talking in between songs (it's her poetry, which is part of the package, but personally, it always seems to deaden the mood). I've seen them a couple of times, so I know that it's coming, but I still figure that if I wanted to hear a sermon, I'd go to church.
Static-X flat out rocked. Their "evil disco" (as they call their music) had plenty of folks moving, though most of them were in the mosh pits. They came out for a couple of encores, and then, after I'd already left, they came out for a third one... to everyone's surprise. They gave a bunch of shit away to those that were still there. Too cool.
This morning, I woke up feeling worse than I've felt in a long time... and I wasn't drinking. The show itself wiped me out... but it was worth it.
Every time that I see a kickass band like this, I pick up the guitar... I'm motivated for another month or so.
I guess that means that I've got to see more shows...
Posted by That 1 Guy at May 23, 2007 09:45 PM | TrackBackDon't you love it when you find something new and great when you weren't expecting it. Oddly enough, although I haven't heard their music... for some reason the name of the band Invitro seems to be one that I've heard - for the life of me I can't think where.
Anyhow, sounds like it was terrific.

Posted by: BloodSpite at May 24, 2007 03:07 AMIt sounded like it would be a kick ass show. Unfortunately shows during the week are hard for me to get to.

I'm thinkin' Yeah. For someone who enjoys playin' the guitar as much as you do....what ever it takes Dude. What ever it takes.
And THRILLED to hear you enjoyed the show.
So, we both been rockin' lately. My morning after was the beer. A great little pub called "The Brick Store" in Decatur, GA. We stopped there before Roger Waters and again afterwards...both kick ass!
Posted by: Mushy at May 24, 2007 03:42 PMTeresa, you can find Invitro's music at one of the myspace pages with: /invitrorules after it. Sorry, but the spam filter flagged my link as spam so I had to change it.
That is unless T1G was refering to inVitro, in which case you can listen to some of their crappy music at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/northyorkshire/music/bands/invitro/index.shtml
So which one is it? (heh, heh, heh)
Posted by: michele at May 26, 2007 08:55 AMTo quote Simon Pegg: "The first one."
Definitely not the last one...
Posted by: That 1 Guy at May 26, 2007 09:16 AMSounds like you need to see a show every month.
Which means that the week before every show, you'll be all crabby from Pre-Musical Syndrome :-)
