Another Question

February 10, Saturday.

How would you refer to that day? Would you call it "next Saturday," or do you say, "One week from Saturday?"

There was a bit of discussion yesterday, and everytime I said "next Saturday," I was corrected with "a week from Saturday," and told that next Saturday would be the 3rd. I say that the 3rd would be called "this Saturday."

So I guess the question is actually, is February 3 this Saturday, or next Saturday? And if you chose the latter, how often were you dropped on your head as a little idiotlet?

Same as you ... this saturday is this saturday, next saturday is next saturday and the saturday that is 7 days from next saturday is the next, next saturday.

Can't we all just get along?

Feb 3 is THIS Saturday. Feb 10 would be NEXT Saturday, or, as we Southerners say it even better, "Saturday week".

I agree with John.

exactly the type of question that begs my daily visit.

the third is this saturday and next saturday. the tenth, i would say, is saturday after next.

but it's a debate everytime. can you just let me know when you settle this? send me the memo...

Ditto what Shoe said... I think...

Why not just say "Saturday the 10th"? My first thought as to the argument at hand is Sat the 3rd is this Saturday (the Saturday of this week) and next Saturday as well, since it is THE next Saturday (as Shoe intimated) The 10th therefore would be Saturday after next, or a week from Saturday.

What about....this coming Saturday be the 3rd, and the following Saturday be the 10th?

Don't be scared, but I'm the same as you. Well, on this question anyway, cause I'm really not the same as you. You have shorter hair than I do, and well, you're a guy and I'm not. But on this? Yeah, I'm the same.

:-) Can I tell you how good that last shot was......

I say this and next. Just like you. Must be a midwest thing.

The 3rd is THIS week, and the 10th is NEXT. Calling tomorrow NEXT saturday would be a bit retarded and anal. But, as Eric will tell ya' a little bit of anal is ok.

This Saturday is Feb 3rd, Super Bowl Eve. Next Saturday is February 10, Pro Bowl Eve. :)

The 3rd is SATURDAY, and the 10th is saturday next week.

And I have never heard of 'Saturday week.' Must be a southern thing!
