Toast Or Brick?

You order toast, how do expect it? Lightly browned, or a potential adobe brick?

How about garlic bread? Browned, or teeth bustingly baked?

I've been told that I am in the minority with my preferences, lightly browned, and still chewable.

I don't think so, but if so, I'm sorry that you are all wrong.

I eat my toasted bread just about any way except black, and even then I'll probably still eat it. But I do prefer to have my toast lightly browned.

T1G,
Have you ever had the dinner rolls at Texas Roadhouse? Holy Hell. Those are good.

I'm with you on the toast.

Toast - Lightly browned. Garlic Bread - browned and still soft inside. English muffin - should NOT break into pieces while being buttered, nor should it exhibit any color approaching black!!

Totally on your side, T1G!

Lightly browned is the norm... anything darker than that and I have the cook redo it before I serve it(unless of course the customer asks for it charred).

Hot, just before it starts to turn brown, cheese good and oeey gooeey (when applicable)

I like to eat my food. Not use it for carpentry

Gotta agree, I made garlic cheese bread last night- no more than 2 minutes under the broiler, toasty edges, soft and chewy in the middle.

It's all about the "phrasology".

Bread....clear enough
Warm bread......duh. warm
toasted......crunchy, brown, ummmm toast.

It's all in how it's phrased.

;-)

Well, that and if the cook actually remembers the damned stuff is in the oven, but that's an entirely different subject all together.

Lightly browned all the way! i hate that burnt supercrisp stuff, especially on garlic bread.

I was going to make a comment but I've been told too many times to stop encouraging you.
