Late
She's late...
Normally, a day or two isn't anything to get worried about. But when you start getting into weeks, and months, that's not a good thing. It's downright scary. It affects your plans, both long and short term. Uncertainties reign supreme.
Awakening to a powdersugar dusting of snow this morning, I realized there's nothing to worry about. I found it funny that on the day of our first bit of snow, my heater kicked on for the first time. (No, I won't tell you what it was set at... you'll think me crazy.)
Yep, Winter is here...
Posted by That 1 Guy at November 16, 2005 01:56 PMAt least you have heat. My furnace doesn't work and though I have a 2 year old in the house, the damn vendors still haven't come out (none of them!) it is going on 2 1/2 weeks now.
Posted by: oddybobo at November 16, 2005 04:08 PMHoly crap!
Even though the "baby factory" has been closed around here for the past 7 years and I soooo knew that it *wasn't about me* I got anxious just reading the beginning of this post! :)
Whew! (And we are running the furnace around here for the first "real" time this season as well -- it was bound to happen eventually....)

Ya think?!?
Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!!
It's 19 flippin' degrees. I may never leave my house again!!!
Oh, and as winter arrives - so does my whining. ;-)
Posted by: Tammi at November 16, 2005 08:10 PMIt *is* rather cold. I even had to wear a fleece pullover this evening. Brrrr...
;-)
Posted by: zonker at November 16, 2005 09:31 PMYOu know... when I was in Atlanta with Mo and Sissy, we left a restaurant and I got so cold I thought I might die. I got in the car, teeth were chattering, I was shivering and cussing and saying, "It's going to f*&^ing snow. I'm GONNA DIE!" Sheesh. I hate it when it gets to 58 degrees. It makes me miserable and cranky.
Posted by: Bou at November 16, 2005 10:14 PMIt's rather chilly out here on the left coast as well. On my drive from LA to San Diego this evening I actually had to turn the AC back a bit from full blast.
It did get a bit chilly with the windows rolled down though.
Posted by: phin at November 17, 2005 12:49 AMHey, I was standing on my front porch wearing shorts smoking cigaretts lastnight.
Posted by: Contagion at November 17, 2005 08:38 AMMost of my time spent outside, I was wearing a flannel over my t-shirt. Not buttoned or anything, just hangin' as a jacket. But in that wind... I had to throw on the Carhartt. 4 degrees with windchill.
I'm ashamed. I used to only wear a jean jacket or that flannel for most of the winter.
