Tarred

I don't know how I managed it, but I pulled a good one today... I fell asleep on the forktruck. While I was driving it.

Methinks this job deal is affecting me more than I realize... sleep is a dream... that I can't dream, because I can't sleep.

Before I hit the hay with hopes of sleeping in, I'd like to ask:

"Where is the strangest place, or what is the strangest way, you've fallen asleep?"

Hmm... good question - my rather abnormal sleeping schedule puts me in the situation quite often, but since I'm such a light sleeper, anything will wake me up. I'd have to say the oddest way I've fallen asleep in the last 6 months is literally upside down in a recliner that wasn't reclining. I woke up and my head was on the coffee table and both my arms were numb.

Strangest place? The color-guard closet at my old high school. I can't even remember what I was doing in there.

Um... "falling asleep" or "passing out?"

Standing... in the shower.

On a pile of drill pipe on an offshore drilling rig when I was about 20. We used to work 40 - 50 hours straight and sometimes you could actually fall asleep standing up against a pole. It was very dangerous, but we were expected to do it. I worked 140 hours in one week one time. I think I slept for a week after that.

Hmmmmm. I'm not sure as I have slept in some strange places and circumstances, from C130s on. I did fall asleep last Saturday out at Wolf Park, fortunately not in the main enclosure...

I once fell a sleep on the floor in my bed room with my feet up in the air leaning against the wall...when my feet fell to the side my two closet doors caught them, and I slept like that all night with my feet in the air...I was in so much pain when I woke up...I was unable to move bellow the waist. My twin was able to drag me to my bed, and it took 30 minutes for the feeling to come back to my legs.
The weirdest place would have to be in an MRI tube...but hay I'm only 20 got a lot of experiances I haven't experienced yet.

Hmmmm... Since having kids, I think I have fallen asleep just about everywhere. ;-)

I'm sure I can think of better ones....but my most embarassing one was parking for Marching Band practice as a freshma in college. I got there early, so I decided to recline and take a little nap. I woke up two hours later and they were all putting their stuff away and getting ready to go home. The director wasn't too happy with me!

On a pile of dirty laundry in my friend Dan's basement after geeking on his IBM XT for almost 30 hours straight.

BTW, I've been offline for awhile so I didn't get a chance to tell you how kick ass the digs look man!

I had to give serious thought to this. Marching Band practice in high school was 3 hours every day and we practiced on blacktop, which was also our school's driving range for Driver's Ed. I just remember it being hotter than three hells and I was beat, the other half of the band (we marched 200 kids) couldn't get it right, and over and over they did their drill, we were all sitting around on my half, and I evidently laid down and next thing I know, the rest of my section was nudging me awake. Blacktop in Pensacola, Florida, in late August, Early September, 2:30PM.

On top of a 20-inch diameter seawater intake pipe, while I was in the Navy.

Which was actually more comfortable than it sounds.
